Hey Andrew,

Thanks so much for the comment!

Absolutely - so the first one used some of Jon Buchan’s “charm offensive” lines.. the second became more to the point.

Neither are particularly personalised because I didn’t see the necessity, but I’m very open to your feedback!

Hey {name},

They say a first impression can work wonders. Sorry about this one...

I know you’re busy and I’m half hating myself for disturbing you but sometimes there’s no other option *sigh*...

I’m in the early stages of building a SaaS product which is supposed to be for heads of marketing agencies like you. I’d therefore love the opportunity to talk to you about your pains and frustrations in order to understand whether or not I have a product-market fit.

I know your time is valuable and I don’t want you to feel I’m trying to grab it from you. I’d be happy to pay whatever you think is fair for an hour of your time, even if it’s more than your hourly rate - I appreciate this is a weird, one-off request.

If you’d be willing to spare some time I’d massively appreciate the chance to get to know what your position looks like at the moment. I’d even sweeten the deal by telling you the worst joke I know or by telling you a piece of trivia you’ll find borderline fascinating.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your reply!

Kind regards,

Max

Hey {name},

I hate to disturb you so I’ll get straight to it!

I’m doing a study on the digital agency market and I’m searching for the biggest pains & problems people like you experience on a day-to-day basis. Is there any chance I could get you on the phone for 20 minutes to ask some questions?

I know your time is valuable and I don’t want you to feel I’m trying to grab it from you. I’d be happy to pay whatever you think is fair for some of your time, even if it’s more than your hourly rate - I appreciate this is a weird, one-off request.

Cheers for reading this, I'll keep my fingers crossed for your reply!

Kind regards,

Max

P.s If it’s a no, thanks anyway! I’d love to know why if at all possible - even a 1-word reply would help!
